“A Heartbeat is defined as the pulse of your heart, or a single short moment, or something that acts as a unifying force.”

Stand still for a moment…

Close your eyes and relax…

Clear your head and focus on your breathing…

Suddenly you notice your right hand index vibrating. You notice the pulse that goes through your entire body in just this little index finger of yours. The heartbeat is there and you are finally listening loudly and clearly; you are feeling alive and awakened. You are listening, feeling, touching… You are finally present in the moment.

This is pretty much how it all began...

We are all sitting in a circle discussing with Ana about the day at Kinitiras. Listening, talking, discussing and writing down on our notebooks. Suddenly my right index starts vibrating...an all too familiar action whenever I'm relaxed. I shift my attention to it and it pulsation becomes even stronger. It grows and transports to other parts of my body. A vein near my ankle takes over and starts "pumping".
I'm so intrigued by all this so I simply note down: [the pumping of blood through the veins - the pulse/the perceptual sound]

You know when you go back to the initial point of an idea you had, after having explored and seen through this idea, and you realize that the words and concept was ultimately transformed and evolved into something far off of the starting point? Well, this just happened to me! I hadn't seen my first notes since the early days of Kinitiras...Going back is always a surprise!

After this first rush of inspiration I'm blank...I have an idea, but I don't know what kind of [choreographic intention] I want to drive out of it. And this is frustrating me; it's driving me mad.

I's late at night and I'm lying on my bed trying to clear my thoughts and see where that will lead me. Talking to another person always helps... I've found my [muse] ! ! !
A revelation has come and I can feel the neurons in my brain racing at the speed of light.
The following appear on my notebook fast enough: [pumping of blood] [the heart] [lifeforce] [vibration]

[Vibration] is the key word here as I immediately make the connection back to the large black box with holes (that looks a lot like a speaker) that is placed in the Kinitiras studio.

I get up, start jumping and twisting and turning, and writing in a small space between my bed and other furniture: [the choreographic intention is born].

###

So, yes, [the choreographic intention has now been born] and a million ideas about the movement that can surround this [intention] blow to the corners of my mind, but now it is time to start putting all this into [perspective].

In one of the workshops, there is talk about [my number one/the first] of each one of us in terms of [the intention].
I come to think how the [vibration/pulse] is definitely my [number one intention] for this research project.
By clarifying the origin of the intention as a concept and a tangible inspiration I begin to set marks in order to start visualizing and create movement through the thought.
My eyes are still set on the large black box that is located inside the Kinitiras studio. It almost looks as an enormous speaker that might begin skreaking any minute now! So, I just start listening. Can it really make some noise? Can it vibrate? Can it pulsate? What is the connection between the pumping of the blood in my index finger and the vibration caused by applying sound to this huge black box/speaker?

As this black box has caused me to start listening even deeper into my [choreographic intention], I decide to use this as a starting point; literally. The starting point of the choreography and the exploration of the vibration...the heartbeat...[hjärtslag]...

My goal now is to attempt to listen to the actual heartbeat of my very own heart.
I'm lying on the floor...my head rotates left and right so I can listen more carefully to the surroundings. Where is the sound coming from?
Well, it appears to be coming from the heart...
The ears have finally found a pathway leading to the origin of the sound.
I turn my head inside - as much as it is possible - so that my ear can be next to my heart.
I close my eyes to focus on the sound of the heartbeat. And the beat keeps getting louder...
I stand up, eyes closed, and I feel the strong need to listen with my touch.
To sense the heartbeat on my fingertips...
To sense the heartbeat throughout my entire body...
